Moose went to the dentist for the first time

Moose had his first dentist experience today. The dental assistant called him by his real name but after I said he goes by Moose they changed it on all his paperwork and called him Moose. He paid attention then! It was a short visit. We watched a video on dental care for young ones then went over some questions and goals with the assistant. Next the dentist laid him back across her lap and mine and brushed his teeth. While doing that she counted and examined them, then applied a non-fluoride varnish. Moose got to pick a toy and we were all done. He cried during the exam but didn't thrash around and got over it quickly! Not too bad for a first visit. I really liked the clinic and staff. Very professional and yet super nice to Moose. Six months until his next checkup!

Fun out at Grandma and Grandpa's place

Moose had an orange for part of his breakfast.  He ate the peel and all!
Moose was very serious about steering the lawnmower.  Two hands on the wheel!
Riding around with Grandpa.
Sprinkler fun!
Oooh, water!
Helping Grandma water the garden.
Taking a water break!
Checking out the tree Grandpa watered.
He had to go in for a bath.  He was both muddy and cold!
Soundly sleeping baby!

Weekend pictures

We were able to get into the pool area in our new neighborhood (where the house is being built) and I went wading in the kiddy pool!  The kiddy pool is only 1 1/2 feet deep and has water geysers shooting into it.  It's very neat and I can't wait for Moose and Levi to be able to play in it!
Moose was very thirsty all weekend!  He had a "man sized" water bottle that he was constantly drinking out of.  So cute!

Moose and Grandma checking out one of the water geysers at the kiddy pool.
Moose helped me unload the dishwasher.  He is very methodical about it, and oh so helpful!
My garden is growing really well.  Moose and I go out regularly to work in it, and Branden helps us water it.
One of my cute little squash plants!
I have a strawberry growing on one of my plants.  See it there in the upper right part of the plant?
Happy, healthy tomatoes and peppers!  This weekend we added a Jalapeno and another Anaheim pepper, too.

A busy and fun day with Moose!

Today we took a morning nap after Branden left for work, and then got up to meet our friend Cristina and her adorable baby, Gia, for lunch and a walk at the park.  Unfortunately it started raining on the way to the park, so we came up with plan B, which was eating in the mall and playing at the indoor play place.  That went well other than Moose sneaking into Gia's stroller and grabbing Cristina's popcorn, then spilling it all over the floor.  He quickly snatched up a couple pieces and tried to eat them, but I got them away from him.  He decided that the next best option was to throw it in the air while laughing like a hyena!  I gathered up all the popcorn and hauled him off to throw it out before he could make a bigger mess!  (We're not even supposed to have food in there, let alone be throwing it around!)
Sound asleep during morning nap today!
Playing at the mall.
Later on we went shopping at Target together, where Moose had a complete fit for reasons I am not quite sure of.  He was so mad!  He threw his blankie on the ground several times and shook his little fists in the air!  He got over it though and resumed his regular cheerful mood.  While there I had to get a few things to make chili dogs, such as chili beans, a tomato, and an Anaheim pepper.  I put them in the cart with Moose, which was a mistake.  He threw the chili beans out, then proceeded to beat on the tomato with them when I returned them to the cart.  I stopped that, turned to look at chips and when I looked at him again he was chewing on my Anaheim pepper.  Apparently he thought it was good, but I had to stop that, too!  Going to Target without Branden is a bit tricky.  Trying to remember what I need, actually get it, and wrangle Moose all by myself is no easy task!  I may never take Moose and Levi to Target without Branden.  One thing is sure if I do, Moose will have his "leash" on so I can better keep track of him!

When we got home Moose went immediately down for a nap, and slept almost 2 hours.  He is such a good little napper!  He still takes one or two 2-3 hour naps a day (depending on what we are doing).  I hope he keeps that up after Levi arrives, as I know I will want to nap, too!  After he woke up we put laundry away together.  That consisted of Moose running laps on our bed, laughing like a hyena again, and throwing clothes on the floor.  As fast as I could pick them up he would throw them back down!  I was hanging a shirt and noticed that Moose was standing on my nightstand clinging to the lamp.  I quickly grabbed him and said "no", but he tucked and rolled onto the bed and yelled "NO" himself!  He is a hilarious and adorable handful that is going 100mph the entire time he is awake!  Thankfully soon after the tuck and roll Branden came home.  I stood Moose up in the window so he could wave at Daddy!  As soon as Branden disappeared from sight by coming in the house, Moose started wailing and wanting Daddy.  When Daddy is around he is ALL that matters to Moose!  It's so sweet how much he loves his Da!  It makes me so happy to see them playing together, and I know it will be even sweeter when little Levi joins in!
Jumping on the bed while waiting for Daddy to get home!

Moose having a lot of fun!

Levi has a birthday scheduled!

I just got a call from the doctor's office and found out that my c-section is scheduled for Tuesday, July 17th at 12pm.  So unless Levi decides to make his appearance earlier, July 17th will be his birthday!  That is a cool day for him to be born on as it's also my Grandpa's birthday (on my Mom's side, who I never got to meet).

I am really glad that the date is finally scheduled and I can quit worrying about that!  I had to push a bit to get scheduled so early, as they wanted to wait until the month prior.  The planner part of me cannot wait that long!  So we have Levi's birthday on the calendar...yay!

Now I am just worried about all the logistics surrounding Levi's birth: Moose being taken care of, being away from Moose for the first time, Branden continuing to work while I am in the hospital the days after, recuperating from a major surgery in a house that has stairs while having a wild 20 month old and a newborn, working out the timing (and finances) of Branden being off for a few days after we get home from the hospital so that the four (!) of us can spend time together, and so on!  It all makes my mind whirl!  I know it will work out just fine, and soon we'll have Levi here with us!

30 weeks!

Water baby!

Moose had a lot of fun playing with his water table today. He got in it near the end and stood up pouring water all over himself. I couldn't get a picture as I had to make sure he didn't fall. Poor little guy was so cold when he was done playing. He actually wanted me to hold him, which is rare. It's supposed to be warm all week so I foresee a lot of water table fun in his future!

A few more Mother's Day pictures

Mother's Day!

I had such a wonderful Mother's Day! We went to church and all of the moms got a yummy chocolate covered strawberry! Branden and Moose gave me some beautiful red tulips! I love them! Later we went out to my parents' house for dinner. It was such a relaxing and fun day!
My loves!
The beautiful flowers Moose and Branden got for me!
Me with my Mom!
Moose was so mad that I was holding him.  He wanted Da!  But I made him take a picture with me for Mother's Day!

Garden 2012

Today Branden, Moose, and I planted our garden!  I was lucky enough to get one of the raised plots so I won't have to bend over as much.  It made the planting (with my belly in the way!) so much easier!  We planted tomatoes, a cherry tomato (for Moose), Anaheim peppers, yellow squash, and strawberries in the garden bed.  In containers we planted radishes, lettuce, and green onions.  Moose was right in the middle of all the action, "helping" as much as he could!  I can't wait until everything starts to come up, so that we can show Moose all the little baby plants!
Our garden box is the perfect height for both Moose and me!

Moose figured he would help plant in the neighboring plot.

Digging the hole for Moose's cherry tomato.

Oooh, a tomato plant!  He is so gentle when he touches them.

Now the real fun begins...watering with Daddy!

Half naked baby running through the water!

Moose was checking out the watering job on his tomato plant.

Taunting his Daddy from a distance!
He loved playing in the mud, as you can see!

Crazy baby at midnight!

Moose went down for a late nap today and woke up wanting to play at midnight! Luckily he was content with a few minutes of playtime and went back to sleep!
