Summer is going to be fun!

I love summer!  BBQing, swimming, camping, long days, cool nights, hanging out with friends, and lots of sunshine.  There's just something very compelling about summer!  However, this summer is going to be better than ever!  Branden and I got a boat today! I am so very excited that we're going to be able to go up to the lake and cruise around whenever we want to.  Plus we'll get to take trips up to the lake with friends and family all summer long.  I am literally so excited that I don't know if I'm going to be able to sleep tonight! :)  So here's the first look at our summer vessel of fun!

First look

Today I had my first ultrasound.  Branden was able to go with me, which I was very thankful for.  I was pretty nervous going into it, and became more so when it took the doctor a while to find the baby and heartbeat.  When he did find it, I had to clarify with "So this means that baby is alive, right?"  He laughed and said I must be a realist, and yes, it means the baby is alive.  Whew!

The ultrasound itself was very cool.  The little one was very active, and kept jumping around.  I have to say the poor baby looked much like a blob with a beating heart, but the doctor was able to see arms.  He wants me to come back in 3 weeks so we can try to get a more clear picture of the baby.  I can't wait for that!  It was such a relief today to find out that the baby is measuring exactly right for me being 10 weeks along, and to see that heartbeat. Yay!  Grow, baby, grow!

Catching Up

It has been over a month since I last blogged.  Time certainly does fly!  I haven't forgotten to blog, not at all.  I simply have had  quite a bit going on.  Plus I don't feel very well.  However, the big news in my life is.....I am pregnant!  Which is why I haven't been feeling well.  "Morning sickness" (read: all day sickness) has been fairly brutal.  I tend to have a weak stomach, so being pregnant has just compounded that.  But, thankfully, today I am feeling much better.  I am officially 9 weeks along as of today.  Maybe the morning sickness will start to dissipate.  I hope.  But yes, Branden and I are going to be parents!  Wow!  Sometimes it feels like it has begun to sink it, but at other times it feels very unreal.  It's scary and exciting at the same time.  I know that we are going to have some big changes coming up with the addition of a little one, and it's not quite like getting a new puppy.  I already thought about crate training and leash training the baby, but one of my friends reminded me that CPS would frown on that!  Bummer.  Which means I am going to have to get used to carting around a little person with me everywhere I go.  Plus all the gear that the little person is going to need.  I have a feeling it's probably going to be a little bigger than my dog bag.  Though it might contain some of the same things (sort of):  poop bags, treats, a water dish, toys, a collar...oh wait, not the collar!  Yes, I guess I will be having to make some changes.  But it will be fun I am sure!
